A full of fun and adventure weekend for me at Mt.Daguldol,it was a "no preparation" hike with my girl friend Gellaine. What i have is just my bagpack, tent, led light and a lil knowledge about Daguldol by reading blogs while at work before that day.We met at Cubao bus terminal,we ride a bus bound to Batangas City 0900,fare:157php.We arrived around 1100,from Batangas Grand Terminal ride a bus to San Juan,Supreme Bus.

Fare: 60php
Travel hrs: 2hrs
We arrived around 0130 in San Juan public market, from there you can ask locals about where is the jeepney terminal going  to Hugom, and you can take your lunch in some eateries located in the area, and buy all your necessities here, there is a small super market in the jeep terminal.Dont forget to buy water.

San Juan to Hugom 45minutes-1hr
fare: 40php

While waiting for other passengers to fill in,I approach one of the passenger and ask if they are going to Mt.Daguldol, and yes they are, they are 14 in the group,so i ask if we can join them in the trek to Mt.Daguldol, and it just happen that they are from Accenture Mckinley, and I am from UHG Mckinley,so they agree. While on our way,our jeepney driver stop in Brgy.Talahiban, and there is people from "department of torism" collect money for those hikers heading to Mt.Daguldol, ecological fee ,20php.

Registration and Guide fees

Guide is mandatory, 400php for group of 5,we are 16 in our group, lucky to be with this group of pips from accenture, and we pay 800php for the tour 24hrs guide,50php each, and 35php each for registration fee. After signing our names in thier log sheet,we hire tricycle for 50php each, yah its kind of expensive, but you have option of walking along the beach for like 20-30 minutes.

We started the trek around 0300,and fun begins here, after covering up our body with sunblock, the trek begin...first 5 minutes, aww,i dont want to continue this trek, yah i am surprised, simula pa lang, nakakapagod na,sabi ko nga,ang lakas mang gulat ng bundok na toh.
After 30-40 minutes you will reach the first rest area, and then after around 1hr of trek you will reach Sitio Catmon,in where you can buy halo-halo for 30php,the cold refreshment at least gave us  strength.

buko for only 20php

Aling Nena, she is selling food for your hungry tummy.

the trek continues, with lots of stop over...

Mt.Daguldol is not easy to climb, for me this is not just 3/9 difficulty ,lots of assaults although it stand just 670+ masl. The trail passes through a series of forest and woodland, expect a breath-taking views of Laiya beach along your way up.Around 6pm,its getting dark,im kind a scared and thinking about some creepy thing in my head, good thing there is an incridible thing  happen, a long the way, there is a lots of Fireflies.i am so amaze,i cant stop walking, thats why i dont have a chance to take picture...almost 7pm we finaly arrived in the camp site,5 minutes away from the summit,we prefer to stay in this area because of the water source available in this camp site.

At exactly 1000 we starts  decending from the summit,it was not easy as i expected,be extra careful as you go down, steep and slippery slopes along the way.

And an excellent side trip to Naambon falls,80 feet drop waterfalls,a five minutes away from the trail, but dont expect too much water during summer, but it was a good place to eat lunch and rest.

Byaherang Barat conquer Mt.Daguldol

Reaching the summit is like achieving success, teaching you to continue and develop determination. Use mountaineering to know your worth.  As you ascend and descend from one mountain to another, you will learn various lessons. Apply those lessons to your life. Overcome the obstacles of failures and death. Drive yourself to rise above your limitations and conquer all challenges. The world is full of harsh outback and only those who are strong thrive; the unfit are weeded out. Climbing is personal. The only barrier is within you. When you climb, going through the obstacles along the trail is just one of the tests a climber must undergo in order to deserve the joy of rising above. Same with life, you have to know how much farther you can go in order to determine where you are heading to.

Dampalitan Island

Padre Burgos,Quezon,Dampalitan Island

Rainy Sat’Valentines’day afternoon,02/14/2015 @Dampalitan Island. The island named from a flower that abundantly grows in the area, the "Dampalitan Flower", I never seen one, The island offers a long stretch of beige sand, clear water , spacious land ,coconut trees and some pine trees ,that is suitable for overnight camping.
They have Cottages for rent, with price range 300php-1000php,and during our visit, the only available cottage is the big one, which is 1000php,good for 10-15px,not bad, the cottage is big, with sleeping area, big dining table and chairs, they have electricity from 6pm-2am,but they don’t have any electricity outlet inside the Cottage to charge ur gadgets, but you can recharges your phone for 40php in the mini store, owned by the care taker of the island.
We arrived around 6pm,so we just prep our dinner and enjoy it with bonfire, good thing the rain stops pouring, and we had Inihaw na Liempo , salted egg with kamatis, and rice at syempre a bottle of beer.

Sunday, and I am hoping that the sun will shine , and yes haring araw says Hello:D
We explore the area, and took some pictures. The cast: Me,MY sis Gjudy and a friend Kris form Denmark.
